About 99 To Life

99 To Life was formed in 2021 as a tribute to the famous California punk band, Social Distortion. 99 To Life is the only Social D tribute in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex. We are passionate about the music and do our best to bring home the sound and feel of this great band to the DFW area.

Mission
At 99 To Life, we are more than just a rock band, we are a high-energy experience that will leave you begging for more. With a unique blend of classic and modern Social Distortion, our sound is invigorating, making you want to dance from the first song to the last. We have had the privilege of playing with some of the most well-known DFW bands like Mondos Bizarros (Ramones tribute), Sedated (Ramones Tribute), Dallas Cooper (Alice Cooper tribute), Ritual (Ghost tribute) and Fly Above Fire. Our goal is to continue delivering electrifying performances and create everlasting memories.

The Band
99 To Life was formed in 2021. Like all bands we experience growing pains, but that also provides for becoming a better-rounded project. Our members have a diverse musical background, but share a common connection to vintage and punk music.

Mike Less
Lead vocals, lead guitar

Keith’s lifelong dedication to music, shaped by diverse stylistic exploration and early roots in ’80s heavy metal, fuels his enduring passion for performance. Fronting 99 To LIfe presents a thrilling challenge that demands raw energy and punk’s signature attitude—an arena where Keith’s unique skillset naturally shines. With deep respect for punk’s stripped-down power, he’s now driven to share his bold interpretation of the genre with audiences everywhere.

Johnny 2 Dogs
Rhythm guitar, backing vocals

Mark (aka Johnny 2 Dogs) roots are in northern Oklahoma, where he grew up on country legends like John Denver, Roy Clark, and Glen Campbell, while distant rock crept in via Mexico’s XEROK station. His early rock influences included Bachman-Turner Overdrive and Black Sabbath, and gradually gravitated toward heavier bands such as Scorpions, Krokus, and Triumph. In college, Judas Priest, Van Halen, Riot, and AC/DC turned him into a metalhead, and discovering Nightwish’s symphonic metal and Sweden’s Crucified Barbara inspired him to pick up the guitar and never look back. Alongside shooting concert photography and writing for a music blog, rock has become central to who he is and he strives to grow as a musician and vocalist, giving credit to the grace of God for transforming his life.

Chris discovered his love for drums at a young age, inspired by legends like John Bonham, Neil Peart, and Marky Ramone. Entirely self-taught, he absorbed influences across rock, punk, funk, and more, developing a versatile style that led him to perform with numerous bands. His guiding principle—always serving the song—continues to shape his growth both on stage and in the studio.
Originally from San Antonio and now based in Fort Worth, Chris is a regular presence at venues and festivals across the Dallas–Fort Worth area. He also plays with The Uprising Worship Band. Outside of music, he enjoys time with his wife and grandkids, competing in tennis, golfing, and honing his drumming skills—always striving to improve.

Coop De Ville
Bass guitar

Mark Cooper, aka Coop De Ville, is the newest member, anchoring the band with his powerful basslines. He’s wielded thunder from the East Coast to Colorado and now brings his low-end prowess to Texas. His late-teen immersion in punk/ DIY shows sparked a deep love for Social Distortion as he learned to play bass. Today, Coop channels that raw energy and attitude into every 99 TL performance.
